Request Assistance
An educational, recreational, or enrichment opportunity can make a lasting difference in a young person’s life. The Lassiter Education Foundation considers requests for financial assistance that help students participate in meaningful opportunities they might otherwise be unable to access.

To request funding for a student, please submit an email containing the information below. Providing a complete request helps the Foundation understand the opportunity, the student, and how our assistance could make a difference.

A complete request should address each of the eight items below.
Requestor Information
Provide the name and address of the person making the request.
Relationship to the Student
If the student is not making the request directly, explain the requestor’s relationship to the student.
Opportunity or Sponsorship
Describe the event, program, activity, educational experience, sponsorship, or other opportunity for which assistance is requested.
Amount Requested
State the amount of financial assistance being requested from the Foundation.
Other Funding Sources
Identify any other sources of funding, financial assistance, or fundraising plans associated with the request.
Contact Information
Provide contact information for both the student and the student’s parent or guardian, as applicable.
Letter of Recommendation
Include a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, school administrator, or member of the clergy who knows the student.
Student Essay
Include an essay of at least three paragraphs with an introduction, body, and conclusion. The essay should help the Foundation understand why it should support the request.
Students are encouraged to discuss topics such as what they expect to learn from the opportunity, how the experience may benefit their future, what makes the opportunity meaningful to them, and the qualities, interests, or goals that make them unique.

Your essay does not need to be elaborate. We are interested in hearing your own perspective, goals, and reasons for seeking the opportunity.
